Welcome to World Animal Week!!! We are excited to celebrate this week with you and make some noise for animals! Today's topic is: Helping Animals in Disaster.
For almost 30 years, WSPA has treated animals in post-disaster situations. In 2010 alone, we've provided relief to animals in seven disaster-stricken areas of the world: Pakistan, Haiti, Mongolia, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico and Bolivia.
For example... did you know that the Bolivian region of El Chaco just had its driest summer in 20 years? The severe drought has left many people and animals in the region without water, struggling to survive. But, with help from supporters, WSPA is now funding a project that will provide water to small livestock holders who rely on their animals for income. We're expecting to help more than 9,000 animals in need!
Click here to read and watch more about these efforts in Bolivia. And, if you want to celebrate Helping Animals in Disaster, please share the YouTube video with others (while you're there, you can also subscribe to WSPA's YouTube channel to stay updated on our work!)
Also, don't forget to come back tomorrow for Day 2 of "Making Noise for World Animal Week!" See you then!
